A remarkable community
Little Earth Montessori is a strong community, with strong values and beliefs, consisting of teachers, parents and children, and managed by principal Anja Geelen.
A trained and qualified Montessori teacher, Anja has been teaching for many years. Anja is passionate about Montessori education and reconnecting young children with nature. Anja blogs and writes books and articles, and she presents workshops about Montessori and naturalising outdoor environments. Anja is also the principal and owner of Tawa Montessori Preschool in Wellington.
Working alongside Anja is an amazing team of teachers. They are one of a kind, dedicated, passionate and inspirational. They do not hesitate a moment to share the children's joyous moments in and outside our classroom, carefully balancing academic excellence with practical and relevant life skills. They miss no opportunity to nurture our children’s innate sense of wonder. Our teachers are our most important asset. They really care about our children and come to know them over the two or three years that they spend together. They have the time and the commitment to give each of our children personal attention and guidance. Little Earth Montessori teachers are remarkable.
Our parent community is remarkable in its own right. We look for parents who have made an informed and deliberate choice about their child’s early education and life. Parents come to Little Earth Montessori for its unique quality and peaceful and healthy learning environment. Our parent community is supportive of our Montessori programme, our enviro practices and our excellent educational programme. At Little Earth Montessori we share a sense of community and commitment to one another. Our families come to Little Earth Montessori to give their child an outstanding preparation for school, and preparing their child to be a global responsible citizen. Little Earth Montessori will be a place for creating life-long friendships.
Our children are our most precious resource. They are the most remarkable members of Little Earth Montessori, creating a community of joyful, motivated learners. Little Earth Montessori children are inspired to be creative and become competent decision makers. They care for the environment and its people. They learn to be kind and respectful, develop confidence and self-esteem and nurture a love for learning.
